I shelled out my hard earned cash and took my dad to the Canucks/Flyers game last night. It was easily the worst game I've ever been to and as a Canucks fan, I've been to plenty of freaking awful games. I turned to my dad a few minutes into the third and said, "The last time a game got this out of hand for the Canucks a guy got his neck broken." Sure enough something stupid happens but not at all what I expected. Has everyone seen Ryan Kesler's face break Jesse Boulerice's stick? I thought the aggression was going to go the other way. Kesler was lucky he didn't break his jaw or something serious. He's probably lucky the stick broke. Everyone in the building saw something coming especially with Kesler and Boulerice going after each other for a couple shifts in a row.
Boulerice has a history of stick violence as well. While in junior, he swung his stick like a golf club and hit an opposing player and was suspended for the remainder of the playoffs. He was also charged with assault. That was 8 years ago but it still speaks to his character.
Those of you that have seen it, what do you think the suspension will be?

That was just bloody nasty....I figure 20 games on this one, because of it being such a obviously pre-meditated act.

I was originally thinking 10-15 but I wouldn't be surprised if it was longer than Downie's and about the same as Simon's.

This is yet another example of the lack of respect that seems to be taking place in the NHL, especially amongst the younger generation of players.
I figure he'll be up for about a 15-20 game suspension on this one.

Well we all know the verdict of Boulerice and he got 25 games.
With the suspension, the Flyers have also put Boulerice on waivers....A double wammy.

Pretty much means he's done....nobody is going to pick him up, just to serve a 1/4 season suspension.....
