I am not just saying this because I am an upset Dallas fan... but I really don't see how you can call a trip and a dive on the same play... When exactly was the last time they called a trip where the obstructed player didn't fall over? If you're tripped you trip... if you dive you dive... If somebody dives because somebodies got their stick around their feet... then call it a dive! If somebody falls becuase somebodies got their stick around their feet then call it a TRIP!...

I think the point of the double call is that there may be a trip on a play but the player being tripped is embellishing the trip and making the referees look bad. Lindros tripped Linden and Linden made it look worse than it really was. They both deserved a penalty.

But they never call trips where the guy doesn't fall... so if they are gonna call a stick infraction and a dive do that... tripping isn't the call.
