The Hart Trophy is awarded to the player who is viewed to be the most valuable to his team during the regular season. This winner of this award is selected by the GM's of the National Hockey Association.
Evgeni Nabokov - 55-22-5 record, .907 SV%, 2.52 GAA, 9 shutouts
Nabokov helped guide the Warriors to the best regular season finish with 115 points, good for top spot in the American Conference. With the Warriors not having a single player with more then 70 points, Nabokov more then any other roster player is credited with the clubs great year.
Evgeni Malkin - 80 games played, 44 goals, 42 assists, 86 points, +3
The Chicago Purple Aces made the playoffs for the first time in club history, with much of the success being credited to Malkin. Malkin showed that he has the potential to be a dominant force in the league by scoring 44 goals and having 20 more points then his next closed teammate Alex Semin.
Eric Staal - 82 games played, 49 goals, 55 assists, 104 points, +26
The leading scorer in the NHA this past season with 104 points, Eric guided the Storm through a fantastic season. The Storm were not expected to make the playoffs and yet they managed a 4th overall spot in the Canadian Conference, mainly because of the dominance of Staal. Staal has an incredible 32 more points then Scott Niedermayer who was his closest teammate.
Sidney Crosby - 82 games played, 33 goals, 56 assists, 89 points, +7
At a very young age of 21, Crosby has very quickly become on the the top five players in the game. This past season, Crosby took it upon himself to get the Wildcats into the playoffs. Not only was Crosby the highest scorer with the Wildcats, he was also 2nd on the team in hits with 174.
