What disgraceful behavior on the part of Avery. In a matter of one minute this guy made a joke of what sportsmanship is in the NHL. The Rangers should bench him for one game just to teach him a lesson and let him know that what he did will not be tolerated.........geez......and to pull that kind of stunt on one of the greatest goalies ever.
That being said, it was kind of funny!

the back and forth between Avery and Brodeur has been really fun to watch all season and series...the best part about that was the fact that Avery scored on that same powerplay...the guy can do it all...he is amazin lol

He's a chump who doesn't know how to hold on to a hot girlfriend. Nuff said. No need to even discuss his half-assed talent, or lack there-of. Screw the Rangers!!! That's all I have to say about that.

I don't know what to think about what he did... My first thought was, how is that different from Holmstrom shoving his ass in every goalies face? To which my father quickly replied, Holstrom is still part of the play and has the ability to tip in a shot... But then is it not a fair trade off that Avery is either running the risk of taking a shot in the back of the head or even intimidate his own team in to being to scared to shoot? Yes it seems unsportsmanlike... but by who's discretion? Obviously not his that's why he did it!

This is Sean Avery we're talking about here....I doubt anyone on his team is going to be afraid to shoot just because it might hit him....it might even be an added incentive. ;D

i thought it was bush league material. it wasn't a hockey play. i was hoping for a shot to the back of the leg. not that i'm an avery hater. he's good at what he does. but didn't one of his teammates (drury?) tell him to stop?

All I can say is he's d**n lucky it was the mild mannered Marty Brodeur and not Ron Hextal or he'd be having complete knee reconstruction surgery right now!
