It's been almost 9 years since I played my last game and I'm itching to get back into it. My last pair of Bauer 3000's were stolen when the bastards broke into my house while I was sleeping so I need to get a new pair. I'd probably need a new pair anyways as those skates had been through a lot.
My question is for those of you that are still playing - who is making decent skates these days? I wore Bauer exclusively when I played and I thought they were the best but I don't know anymore. Nike's involved and CCM is still around. What would you guys recommend?

There is also Easton, Graf, Mission, RBK...
Do some research, as there seems to be some difference between the brands on level of competition, foot width, flat vs. high arches, etc. Some skates you can bake and not others.
Check out modsquadhockey.com-- there should be lots of info.
Myself, I'm retiring my Bauer 3000's after something like 11 years-- just a few days ago I've received my Mission Fuel 100 AG. My feet are narrow and I have a high arch. The boot feels great and seems to be fairly stiff, although there is plenty of forward flex. The blade's height is adjustable @ the heel (3 levels).

I use Bauer Supreme 6000's currently. They have just enough support for the ankle IMO. I can't wear CCM or Easton because my foot is too wide.
Whatever you go with, I'd get a bakeable skate. It cuts down on the break in time by a significant amount.

what is a bakeable skate? When you buy the skates, the shop will heat them and then have you walk around in them. It helps form the boot to your foot.
