Hardly a laugh Mark....New Jersey just played amazing and Philly's goaltending still sucks. Most people would have picked Philly just based upon how each team played in the 1st round....and nobody else choose with their heart. Props to the Devils for shutting down the Philly offense.

There's no way Jersey should have won this series based on the player talent on both clubs. Jersey won because they stuck to their fore-checking game plan and had much better goaltending.
I give Jersey credit for the series win. I had this prediction all wrong.

I give Jersey credit for the series win. I had this prediction all wrong. I agree that the fore-check won the series, but you can't take away the fact that Bryzy was the best Flyer throughout the whole series. There were games that NJ should have won by 4 or more goals if not for him standing on his head. Sure, he screwed up badly on the eventual series-winning goal, but I can't fault him for 4 out of 5 games. The Flyers are also not the most talented group in my opinion. They have a bunch of unknowns with those kids. Put a little pressure on them and they crack. That's typical of teams with a ton of rookies in the lineup. I think the problem was Philly has too big of an ego and not enough skill to back it up. I also love the fact that they faced the Penguins right away because that's two dead birds with one stone. If NJ plays their game the Rangers are out and the real challenge comes when the Kings go to the Finals. The only thing about the Rangers that scares me is their fans. Even in Jersey they'll be loud and that sucks. But the Devils are the better team. They just have to play like it and prove everyone wrong, again.
